Area of Study 1: Going into business
Outcome 1
Small Business report prepared by Robyn Christiansen from Sacred Heart Girls' College, Oakleigh, is a ‘hands on task that gets student to explore the reasons for going into business and the types of business ownership. It is adapted from a task called Going into Business originally produced prepared by Kerry Canty.

Areas of Study 2 & 3 – Recording and reporting accounting data and information and financial decision making
Outcomes 2 & 3
Unit 1 Case Study prepared by Anna Murphy from St Columbas College is a ‘hands on’ student task involving the recording and reporting of financial transactions for a service firm. It’s an individualised task that allows students to work independently making it easier to assess their learning. Also included is an answer spreadsheet. This task was developed after attending a Comview presentation by Julie Christopoulos.

Outcome 3
Kerry Canty has prepared a fantastic Investing Task for classroom use, including weblinks, that focuses on alternative investment opportunities. Key concepts covered include speculation, risk verses return, unsafe investments, simple and compound interest.

Cash Budgeting – A great ‘hands on ’decision making' task which encourages students to problem solve, prepared by Kerry Canty. This resource includes a Task File, a Student File, and a Solution.
